Meredith has been a prolific working artist, educator for over 30 years, and received her MFA at Claremont Grad School in l983. She has given workshops and art residencies nationally in Oregon, Indiana, Ohio, Vermont, Florida, California, and internationally in Holland, Scotland, China, Italy, Brazil and Portugal. She has also taught in colleges and universities in Florida, Wisconsin, California.

As an environmental artist Meredith was invited twice to Brazil in l996 and l997 where she created a large installation entitled “Take Back the Trees”, to highlight the serious destruction in the Amazon rainforest. She was also using her material wet clay slip in Miami, Florida to bring attention to the fragile ecological balance and entropic nature of the earth, with her repeated theme installations entitled “Earthbreath.” She held day long residencies at local colleges and universities in the area involving students with triangle imagery, sound art, and movement interacting with her environmental sculptures outdoors. In Portugal, her artwork involved saving the cork trees that are becoming more threatened with extinction.

Meredith has done many commissions and art installations for the past 35 years in Florida, Scottsdale, AZ, and Atlanta, GA to mention a few locations. In Atlanta, she was awarded the juried commission in time for the Olympics in l997 where she created “Aphrodite’s Dream,” 52 pieces of ceramic sculpture on a stairwell at the downtown Hilton Hotel, using early female imagery of triangles, a snake and triple spirals.

For twenty years in the early 90’s, Meredith. Founder/Director of the National Women’s Institute for Creativity, Inc. in Miami held unique workshops and independent studies for women to create their most risk taking work in all the cultural arts. She also volunteered on the now famous Judy Chicago “Dinner Party Project” in the late ‘70’s where she was invited to fabricate the most sculptural of the 39 plates to celebrate the life and work of the only living artist at the time, Georgia O’Keeffe based on Judy’s fine drawing.

Meredith resides in Portland, OR currently where she is actively involved with her new work of abstract paintings at MerArt Studio over the past several years. In 2006 Meredith also began her business Art in Motion and is an Independent  Contractor, and she offers programs in World Music, entitled Music Imagery, Arts and Crafts and Ceramics designed specially for fragile adult communities in her local area.

Meredith continues to create with her newest project, MerArt Productions currently involving unique light and space art . Her newest work entitled “Cloud Speak Retreat”, is an experimental sculpture next to her MerArt Studio inspired by James Turrell’s “Rodin’s Crater“, in the south west desert. She plans similar projects of this nature that will include interaction with interested persons who would like to continue to expand their own art processes working with Meredith.
